1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work properly, improve user experience, and provide information to site owners. This policy explains what cookies wreckin.parts uses and how you can control them.

3. Local Storage

In addition to cookies, we use your browser's localStorage to store certain preferences. Unlike cookies, localStorage data is not sent to our servers with each request.

  • Theme Preference: Your light/dark mode preference is stored in localStorage so the site displays in your preferred theme on return visits.
  • UI Preferences: Other interface preferences (such as sidebar state or view mode) may be stored locally for convenience.

localStorage data persists until you clear your browser data or explicitly remove it.

4. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID: G-3Y4EK5NJTL) to understand how visitors interact with our platform. Google Analytics collects:

  • Pages visited and time spent on each page
  • Referral source (how you arrived at the site)
  • Browser type, operating system, and screen resolution
  • Approximate geographic location (city/region level, not precise)
  • Device type (desktop, mobile, tablet)

Google Analytics data is used in aggregate to improve the platform. We do not use Google Analytics to personally identify individual users. For more information about how Google uses data, visit Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Managing and Disabling Cookies

You can control and manage cookies in several ways:

Browser Settings

Most browsers allow you to manage cookies through their settings. You can typically find cookie settings in your browser's "Privacy" or "Security" section. Common options include:

  • Block all cookies
  • Block third-party cookies only
  • Delete cookies when you close the browser
  • Clear existing cookies

Google Analytics Opt-Out

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Important Note

Blocking essential cookies (session and CSRF cookies) will prevent you from logging in and using authenticated features of the platform. Analytics cookies can be blocked without affecting functionality.
